There is currently a good feeling in Europe about district heating and cooling, which is regarded as an important instrument for decarbonisation in many recent EU documents. Unfortunately in Italy we are facing a slightly different reality: support instruments for DHC have been recently modified in a penalising way, a recently started regulation process of the market it is likely to charge excessive costs on DHC with the risk to penalise it against competitors. Moreover, political stakeholders show poor attention to DHC and its potential. In this frame it is very important for us the cooperation with Euroheat & Power and all individuals in member organisations: we keep in contact with best practice examples around Europe and world, so we can tell success stories to our national decision makers, trying to create a better feeling for DHC in Italy too.
