Developing the largest LTDH grid in the world

COOL DH is a new Horizon 2020-project where two new LTDH grids will be demonstrated, monitored and evaluated. New innovations will be tried out, for example new innovative pipes and solutions for avoiding legionella. The LTDH grid in Brunnshög, Lund, will be the largest LTDH grid in the world supplied by surplus heat from the research facilities ESS and Maxlab IV. In Høje-Taastrup, Denmark, surplus heat from cooling machines used in server halls and malls will help the municipality become more sustainable. The role of Lund University Department of Energy Sciences will be to monitor and evaluate the performance of these two new systems.
