2017 was a great and buzzing year. Much progress was made in so many areas. First of all we were of course busy with EU policies and am very glad about how far we got especially on the buildings directive. But besides the field of ‘hard policies’, we have also made substantial progress in the field of research and innovation with a number of specific much needed calls under the new H2020 Work Programme and even more so with a new SET Plan with DHC written all over it. What happened in the policy field was also evident elsewhere looking at our congress in Glasgow and the great conference with our members in Qatar, as well as our cooperation with our members and many other actors in Brussels, across Europe and beyond. A special highlight for me: the launch of the coolingEU forum and the increasing visibility that our own District Cooling work gets.
