2017 was a year of transformation and strategic orientation for Engie’s district heating and cooling activities. We invested more than 2 billion EUR into making the group the number one independent district cooling operator, with the strategic participation in Tabreed, a company which provides its innovative cooling solutions to iconic infrastructure projects in the
United Arab Emirates (UAE) and across the Gulf Cooperation Council. In this context, we were more than happy to attend the first international district cooling focused event co-organised by Euroheat & Power in Doha.
Moreover, we have been very actively involved in promoting district heating and cooling as the backbone to sustainable cities and regions across the world. They are without a doubt the key players at the heart of the energy transition in a fast changing world. The huge potential of DHC networks lies in developing future-proof, integrated urban solutions and services. It comes as no surprise that one of they key priorities for Euroheat & Power has been, and will surely continue to be, reaching out to cities.
